Mecklenburg Summer 2023 This time I was in Mecklenburg to burry my uncle Adolf Köster. A very sad reason. ZECHE ZOLLVEREIN Some History The industrial area of Zollverein was erected starting in 1847 by Franz Haniel. The area become the most important coal mining industry in Germany and was also important for the steel production. In the years from 1920 – 1930 many buildings in the new industrial architecture style are erected (Fritz Schupp and Martin Kremmer). BUGA 2023 at Mannheim Mannheim the Town The BUGA 2023 is a gardening exhibition located in Mannheim a town in the south west of Germany. Mannheim is known as the “Quadrate Stadt” that means the “Square City”. The streets in the Center are named like chess squares e.g. “E5” where you will find the town hall. The Cologne Dome

Main Artworks in the Cathedral With the following photo I will show you the reason of the Dome erection starting in 1248. Here you will have a look at the Holy Shrine: In the newer days the well known artist Gerhard Richter designed the south window of the Dome. The south side was former the main entrance from the monastery. Today the entrance is closed. The window itself is very colorful.
